Helen Skelton, 37, took to Instagram to thank her 238,000 followers for their support for her series Springtime On The Farm. However, she found herself addressing one viewer in particular who criticised her presenting on the show.
Yesterday Helen posted a heartfelt message on Instagram ahead of Springtime On The Farm coming to an end.
She wrote: “Over the moon with your support ….. thanks for watching @onthefarmc5 ….
“Been one of those years where you find a new respect for your colleagues.
“To all those adapting and changing thank you….
“I know, I know it’s me with another animal but just feeling lucky this is ‘work’ at the minute#grateful #britishproduce #farming #rurallife #nature #freshair #yorkshire #springtime”
Accompanying the message, she showed a behind the scenes image with one of the animals on the show.
However, one follower had a complaint about the latest series, which they posted below the image.
They wrote: “Enjoyed last night (sic) show, I would like to see you do more than just stand there presenting.”
Helen was quick to respond to the viewer, pointing out how Covid-19 restrictions have impacted them.
She replied: “Us too but unfortunately covid restrictions make it tricky to move around each other and “get involved” as much as we would love to.
“Keeping crew abs (sic) colleagues safe is the priority at the min.”
The presenter then accompanied her comment with some smiling emojis with love hearts as eyes.
The fan then replied: “Of course, sorry I wasn’t thinking.”
The latest series of Springtime On The Farm is set to conclude this evening on Channel 5.
This will see Adam Henson back presenting as he hopes one of his pregnant pigs will help secure the future of the rare Large Black breed.
As well as this, JB Gill will be revealing the Young Farmer of the Year.
Alongside On The Farm updates, Helen also wished her son a happy birthday on her Instagram page today.
The former Blue Peter presenter posted a sweet message to her son on his fourth birthday.
She wrote: “Hold him a little longer. Rock him a little more.
“Tell him another story. You’ve only told him four. Let him sleep on your shoulder.
“Rejoice in his happy smile. He is only a little boy for such a little while.
“Someone else’s world but etched on my heart. Four glorious years of your company.
“Thanks for letting me tag on your adventures darling boy.”
Springtime On The Farm airs on Channel 5 tonight at 8pm.
