Former professional footballer David Ginola has revealed that he was once so “obsessed” with his teacher that she eventually called his parents. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate, 54, explained that he had “unnerved” his teacher so much by “staring” at her, that she resorted to taking action when he wouldn’t stop “staring into her eyes” while she was teaching at school.
She knew I was staring into her eyes and used to look back into mine
The French football star said: “The first time I fell in innocent love was at school – with my English teacher Madame Bonnemain.
“She was beautiful to me, the way she spoke, the way she moved on the raised platform in class like a dancer.
“She was brunette and had a lovely body, with nice eyes and a pretty face.”
The star went on to explain that his behaviour prompted the teacher to inform his parents that David had made her feel “uncomfortable”.
“I used to sit in the front row of class and would stare at her all the time to the point where it unnerved her,” the I’m A Celebrity star wrote in his memoir, Le Magnifique.
David went on: “She knew I was staring into her eyes and used to look back into mine, but it was always she who had to turn away first and look to the floor.
“She even called my parents to tell them that I made her feel a bit uncomfortable and asked them to have a word with me,” he added.
The former French athlete went on to marry Coraline Delpin in 1991.
They had two children together, Carla, 22, and Andrea, 26.
But after 25 years of marriage, they went their separate ways.
David is now in a relationship with model Maeva Denat, who he has a 16-month-old daughter with.
The couple confirmed their romance four years ago, weeks after the star suffered a near-fatal heart attack.

On last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, David told his campmates how he “passed away for 12 minutes” after suffering a heart attack in 2016.
Speaking to TV star Dame Arlene Phillips about his exercise regime, David recalled the incident which occurred during a charity match.
Music producer Naughty Boy asked: “Is that true about something that happened to you? You died and came back?’
“I passed away for 12 minutes,” David confirmed.
He went on to explain: “Just playing football and at one stage you just fall on the floor.
“So they have to perform CPR for 12 minutes and they arrive with the defibrillator and they shocked me one time, two times, three times…
“They said, ‘I think your friend is dead.’ A fourth, fifth time… the fifth time, a heartbeat,” David said.
“The surgeon said, ‘You’ve been very lucky David, it’s a miracle. In your condition nine out of 10 would have died,'” he added.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9.15pm on ITV.
