Jess Wright, 36, reveals she’s frozen her eggs due to early menopause fears

Jess Wright has revealed that she’s frozen her eggs after she feared that she might be going through early menopause.

The former The Only Way is Essex star married William Lee-Kemp, 34, in a stunning ceremony in Mallorca, Spain in September and now they are planning their future together.

The 36 year old decided to freeze her eggs as her mother, Carol, 61, went through menopause at 41 years old, which was similar to her late grandmother’s experience as well.

After researching early menopause, Jess made the decision to freeze her eggs to keep the option of starting a family open just in case the same happened to her.

The reality star told Grazia : “There are so many girls out there in my position.

“But it was only when I saw that article that I became aware if your mum goes through early menopause, you might go through it five years earlier than your mum and grandmother."

Jess also began experiencing sweats throughout the night, which made her ‘panic’ that she might be going through menopause, so she began planning for her future children. She added that while she hasn’t started menopause, the sweating had concerned her.

Jess continued: “I haven't gone into menopause now, but I was getting sweats in the night so bad.

“I knew that it was a symptom so I was really, really panicking myself and spiralling into this ditch of I'm going through menopause, or I'm going to start, and then I was worrying if we're going to have to be able to have children.”

The TV personality tied the knot with her husband in a lavish ceremony in Spain earlier this year.

The grand occasion was held at a local church with 12 bridesmaids, before heading to a castle for a banquet after the service.

Yet, the star has admitted that before her picture-perfect day she did have some ‘ bridezilla outbursts” as the coronavirus restrictions delayed her wedding several times.

The Essex beauty also celebrated her 36th birthday in Mallorca just days after her wedding in a celebration with her nearest and dearest including brother, Mark Wright and sister in law Michelle Keegan.

Jess and William’s big day will be documented in a new ITVBe show called ‘Jess Wright: The Wedding’.

Jess Wright: The Wedding airs Tuesday 2nd November at 9pm on ITVBe and ITV Hub
