Kim Kardashian has been busy celebrating her 40th birthday, and now Kanye West has pulled out all the stops to get his wife the ultimate birthday gift.

The reality star, who recently reunited with former bestie Paris Hilton to launch her new SKIMS collection, received a hologram of her late dad Robert Kardashian from her husband.

Kim took to Instagram to share a video clip of the hologram and thanked her husband for getting her "the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime."

She wrote: "Hologram from Heaven. For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star went on to explain how life-like the hologram is and how much it meant to her and the rest of her family.

"It is so lifelike and we watched it over and over, filled with lots so tears and emotion. I can't even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom and closest friends to experience together.

"Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime," she concluded.

The life-like hologram of the late Robert, who passed away from esophageal cancer in July 2003, spoke directly to Kim and wished her happy birthday.

The hologram said: "Happy Birthday Kimberly! Look at you! You're 40 and all grown up. You look beautiful just like when you were a little girl.

"I watch over you and your sisters and brother and the kids everyday. Sometimes I drop hints that I'm around."

Hologram Robert then began dancing to Who Put The Bomp by Barry Mann and said: "Remember when I would drive you to school in my tiny Mercedes everyday and we would listen to this song together."

After dancing, the hologram got serious to congratulate Kim on all of her achievements.

"I am so proud of the woman you have become, Kimberly, and all that you've accomplished. All of your hard work, all of the businesses you have built are incredible."

Referencing Kim's current four-year apprenticeship program at a law firm, the hologram explained: "But most impressive is your commitment to become a lawyer and carry on my legacy.

"It's a long and hard road, but it's worth it. And I am with you every step of the way."
