Kate Garraway revealed on her Instagram that she had suffered a challenging few days in the build-up to her first Christmas without husband Derek Draper.
Posting an image of a Christmas tree on Tuesday, 30 December, Kate told her followers: "We had a calamitous few days in the run up to Christmas – but we got through thanks to some wonderful people.
"The guys from @bondconstruction who literally got on their hands & knees with me to bucket out water after we had 2 pipe leaks that flooded our home."

Kate also revealed her friend Emma Willis had helped her get food, explaining that she had "made sure we had #gorgeousfood for our Christmas dinner when I couldn’t get a delivery slot anywhere."
The Good Morning Britain host added: "the guys from @britishgas who spent hours on the phone helping me to get a fridge & freezer to put the food in . The guys from @skyhelp who talked me through getting our WiFi & tv working on Xmas eve. Your kindness & spirit is overwhelming .
"And all @itv & @global for their constant support. Sending love & virtual hugs to all of you who have sent messages – spreading the love is what will give us all a truly happy new year."
Friends were quick to offer their messages of support, with host Gaby Roslin saying: "Oh Kate. May next year be full of love and laughter and health and happiness for you and your family."
There's no denying that 2020 has been a tough year for Kate and her children Darcey, 14, and William, 11. Her husband Derek, 53, was admitted into hospital with coronavirus back in March.
He was put into a medically-induced coma and has beaten the disease but remains in hospital following complications.

ITV chat show host Lorraine Kelly recently opened up on how Kate, 53, has received help behind-the-scenes at the studio from their co-star and pal Dr Hilary Jones, 67.
“He has been an absolute hero throughout this pandemic," she told Express.co.uk.
“Bringing clarity and common-sense advice with real empathy and behind the scenes he has been helping Kate [Garraway], whose husband is currently still in hospital."
“And all of our team and crew who have been concerned and worried about themselves and their loved ones."
Kate recently opened up about her co-host Ben Shephard, insisting that in a true sign of their 20-year friendship, Ben has been by Kate’s side every step of the way.
She said: "For 20 years, Ben has had to do so much for me, but this year has been another level. He has been at the end of the phone and trying to do everything that he can to help. To be serious for a minute, it has been a huge pressure on him."
