Katie Price petition to ban star from owning dogs gets 20,000 signatures as she buys pup
A petition calling for Katie Price to be banned from owning more animals has generated over 20,000 signatures after the star posed with new puppy, Captain.
The 44 year old former glamour model shared a photo of herself with the new family pet last week, but the snap was met with criticism from some fans.
Standing in a pair of green pyjamas with the pooch held up with one hand, comments from followers included: "Poor dog, being held terribly!" and “I hope this one lives longer than the others”.
The petition, which was started last year, has seen a resurgence in interest following Katie’s Instagram photos with the new pet.
In 2020, Katie's Alsatian, Sparkle, was hit by a car and killed after it escaped from her home and ran out onto the road.

Meanwhile, a carer for Katie's son Harvey found another dog, Rolo, dead after it had got stuck under an armchair.
Thepetitionwas launched by a concerned animal lover, who lists Katie's pets who have tragically died.
"It's a common thing in Katie Price's home," they say.
Another of Katie's dogs, a puppy called Precious, was given away by the star just months after she was brought into the family
OK! has contacted Katie Price's representatives for comment.
Animal rights group PETA, meanwhile, has had its say. Thea activism group also argues that the star should be stopped from owning any more pets.
The organisation's director, Elisa Allen, toldThe Sun: "Given her track record with animals, several of whom have died in her 'care', it would be irresponsible and reckless for Katie to be allowed to acquire another one.
"And any breeder willing to sell to her is clearly putting profit over the animals' welfare."
It comes after the star managed to avoid jail time after being charged with allegedly speeding near her home in Horsham, West Sussex, back in September 2021.
