Martin Roberts, 56, was surprised to learn that a few fans weren’t impressed that Homes Under The Hammer often revisited unfinished projects rather than fully completed renovations. Admitting how much it winds them up, the BBC star was quick to apologise and promised to “do better” by having a word with the production team.
I’ll have words with the production team and promise to do better
During his weekly Q&A, Martin encouraged viewers to ask their questions but wasn’t prepared for a somewhat popular complaint about the long-running show.
The viewer asked: “When will HUTH stop going back to UNFINISHED projects?!”
They added: “Nothing winds me up more.”
Taken aback, Martin sounded surprised: “Wow, sincere apologies for ruining your morning,” he began.
“I’ll have words with the production team and promise to do better.”
It wasn’t long before others acknowledged the grievance and admitted they too were finding it irritating.
“I have to say I agree,” one replied.
Another suggested: “Or……how about a further return once everything is complete??”
But someone else defended the presenter, providing an alternative idea for showing unfinished projects.
“Not your fault Martin. Some people just don’t always get on with the work for whatever reason. I know we sometimes get updated stories in later series, but maybe there’s an idea there for a future programme – ‘HUTH Revisited’,” they wrote back.
Another said: “Sometimes it’s interesting to know why a project hasn’t been completed yet. I’ve seen several where they went back again when finished, and what a great job they eventually did. I’m SOOO looking forward to the Paisley Twins doing well on their former Fire Station, can’t wait!”
It seems Martin was left stunned more than once during this weeks’ Q&A, after a super-fan put him on the spot with none other than a marriage proposal.

The hopeful wrote to their idol: “Hi Martin, will you marry me?” alongside a kissing emoji.
The property expert hates to be one to disappoint and reassured his pursuer that he will have a think about it.
“Hey, Poly thank you for the kind offer,” he replied, before joking: “I’ll check with my current wife!”
Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays at 10am on BBC One.
