Meghan and Harrys rift with Royal Family still not resolved, expert claims

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still carrying on their rift with the Royal Family according to author Richard Fitzwilliams.

In a new interview, he claimed that things are "still not resolved" between the family members, eight months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's controversial interview with US chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

The writer also claimed Harry, 37, and 40 year old Meghan's rift continues to be "very wide at the moment".

Richard told Daily Star: "The rift in the royal family does not, so far as we know, appear to have been resolved.

"They initially had huge support after the extremely destructive interview with Oprah.

"A lot of what they said, whilst portraying themselves as victims, never stood up to scrutiny."

The royal expert was referring to some of the explosive claims the couple made against members of the royal family.

In one segment, Meghan said there had been concerns over Archie's skin tone and how "dark" he might be when he was born by an unnamed person in the family.

Harry also corroborated with his wife's comments claiming the person had made the comment to him directly.

But while the couple insisted to Oprah that the person in question wasn't the Queen or the late Prince Philip, the claims only increased the feud between the family.

Richard went on to say that the Sussexes next steps remain a mystery, and claimed the firm are on edge waiting to see what he will include in his new autobiography.

The book is released next year and the expert continued: "Quite literally anything could happen.”

Harry released a statement about the upcoming book, saying: "I'm writing this not as the Prince I was born but as the man, I have become.

"I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned…

"I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think."
