Mike Tindall says sneaky wife Zara broke agreement they made before I’m A Celeb

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’s Mike Tindall branded his wife Zara “sneaky” on Monday as he revealed that he asked her not to send in a letter.

The former Rugby professional exited the jungle on Saturday before footballer Jill Scott beat Owen Warner and Matt Hancock to the crown.

Mike, 44, and Zara then had an emotional reunion on the I’m a Celeb bridge before enjoying the rest of the weekend in Australia with his castmates.

On Monday, Mike appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Owen to talk about their experience on the show and, most notably, how Mike's wife went against his wishes and sent in a letter.

Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Arnold, he said: "The hardest thing about the whole show, especially when you've got three little ones as well, is being away for that period of time..

"Originally she [Zara] wasn't going to write me the note. I carry them [the family] quite close to the surface anyway.

"In that situation I tried to put emotions quite far down below, so wanted my brother to write the letter and he would take the mickey out of me a bit more so it would be a grounding one rather than bringing it all back to the surface.”

"She was sneaky on me. She was a sneaky little one she was there so it got me a little bit that,” he added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Mike spoke about his greatest worries going into the competition and said: "We had a great camp that got everyone through whatever the wobbly moment was.

"Coming from a team background, my biggest worry was that if the dynamic wasn't right, it was going to make for a bad time.”

Speaking to Ant and Dec following his exit, Mike beamed about the experience and said it had been “lots of laughs.”

He said: "I mean that is the best thing you can get through anything when the humour is good and in all fairness to everyone, everyone has their distinct humour and Seann will always stick in my head. I just love that guy.

"Coming in I wasn’t worried about the stay, I wasn’t worried about the food, I sort of got myself in that place, my experience was going to be what happened in camp and the trials because I knew that Mia would want me to do trials with creepy crawlies because that is just how she likes it.”
