Naga Munchetty has reacted as one of her co-stars shared an update from their last shift on BBC Breakfast. Katherine Downes has opened up about her final time presenting for BBC Sport on the morning news show.

Posting in view of her 12,000 followers, Katherine admitted it was her last shift on the show earlier today.

Speaking to her co-star Naga Munchetty, she also shared how it wasn’t going to plan.

The sports presenter said: “My last shift with the sports news on @BBCBreakfast and, true to form, I’ve forgotten my shoes.

“Borrowed some from @TVNaga01 ‘s cupboard…she has much daintier feet than me.

“An (un)fitting finale coming up over the next 3 hours.”

However, Naga was quick to reassure her colleague with a supportive message.

She penned back: “You wear them fabulously!”

Katherine has worked at the BBC for 14 years but recently announced her plans to “move on”.

Posting on November 5, she wrote: “It’s given me the best of times and the best of friends.

“I hope they’ll have me back every now and then, but if you’re looking for a commentator/presenter/reporter, I’ll be free from the end of November.”

At the time, Naga replied: “Always welcome my friend xx.”

Following the news of Katherine’s departure, many fans shared their surprise at her leaving.
