Leah Charles King shared an update on filming A Place in the Sun with her 10,700 Instagram followers. The presenter introduced new prospective buyers Tina and Greg before the team were rudely interrupted by a sandstorm, which meant they had to move the location of their Cyprus shoot.

“So we are moving location from our idyllic spot,” Leah explained.

“Big winds have picked up and it was becoming a bit of a sandstorm to be honest.

“There was no way we were going to be able to film there.”

The presenter had been planning to interview the couple on a sandy Pathos beach for their opening chat, explaining why they wanted to move to Cyprus.

However, due to the poor weather conditions, they were forced to relocate at the last minute.

“So now we are back on the road again looking for a new location where we can do the opening chat.”

“Plans have changed, just to make these two a little bit more nervous,” Leah joked.

Tina and Greg admitted that they were slightly anxious, but also “very excited” to start filming.

The team moved across to the village of Tala, a beautiful town just a few miles outside of Pathos.

“Welcome to Tala! It’s about seven miles from Pathos and we do like our little quaint Cypriot villages.

“As long as it’s got a couple of tavernas – places you can eat and drink – that’s usually the village life here.”

Leah went on to explain that she has a personal connection to small villages like Tala.

“I love village life. I come from a small fishing village in St Lucia. That’s where my family are from on my mum’s side,” she explained.

“I love village life. That’s me all the way. And so I like coming into these little villages when we’re out in Cyprus.

“They’re very different mind you, but they’re still just gorgeous and they’ve always got a church bang in the middle.”

Leah took her followers on a walking tour of the idyllic sand-coloured streets of the sleepy Cypriot neighbourhood.

She was also sure to make Tina and Greg feel right at home, telling them that once their interview was out of the way that they would be “pros” and “auditioning for her job next”.

Leah is a brand new addition to the A Place in the Sun team, with her first episode airing within days.

The celebrity first made her name in 90s R&B girl band Kleshay, who supported Lionel Richie on tour, and she also sung backing vocals for stars like George Michael and Mary J Blige.

A Place in the Sun continues today at 3pm on Channel 4.
