Tom Parker gave an update on his health yesterday after being diagnosed with a brain tumour last year. The Wanted frontman, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Wednesday, revealed that a new scan showed his tumour to be “stable with a slight reduction”.

Tom’s wife Kelsey hailed her husband her “hero” for the way he has bravely faced his health ordeal.

She wrote on Instagram: “Click of the fingers and your whole life can be turned upside down.

“35 weeks pregnant (with our Bodhi boy) and we were told the most hard hitting devastating news.

“My @tomparkerofficial had a brain tumour, the beads of sweat, echo within my head and leg shaking is something I will never forget,”(sic) she continued, in view of her 61,700 followers.

Alongside a photo of Tom with their children, she added: “Nearly a year on since diagnosis and he has had another stable scan with reduction.

“I am so proud of my husband – he truly is my hero.

“On the darkest of days when we have cried and held each other and those days when we have put the bravest faces on when deep down inside have crumbled.

“You have to fight with all you have, cancer has an armor you must throw bombs at it from all directions.

“Stable MRI is all we could ever wish for.

“Thomas Parker- you are an inspiration to us all.

“Just because we carry it well – doesn’t mean it isn’t heavy,” she added.

“I’m not crying. I love you more than you could ever know,” Tom wrote in the comments section of her heartfelt post

The couple learnt the devastating news when the mum-of-two was heavily-pregnant with their second child.

One year on, they are parents to Aurelia Rose, two, and Bodhi, nine months.

In her social media snap, Tom could be seen marking his special day with his children and a cake.

“Happy birthday to a superhero HubbyDaddy” it aptly read.

Yesterday, Tom shared an update on his own Instagram account after enduring days filled with “dread and worry” while awaiting the results of his scan.

“I’m pleased to announce that the results of yesterday’s scan (lovely birthday present), are stable with a slight reduction in the tumour if anything,” he told his 214,000 followers.

“I can’t tell you how grateful I am to receive this news.

“We left it a little longer between scans this time just to give time for the medication to work etc but overall a great day. Thanks to all our healthcare team. You are truly wonderful.

“And thank you all you lovely people out there sending love and support. It really is so appreciated. Time to celebrate.”

Many took to the comments section of his post to share their delight at the news, including his former bandmate Max George.

“Best news ever mate… you’re beating this like we knew you would. You’re a WARRIOR! Love you mate,” he wrote.
