Beautician warns women to NEVER use eyelash curlers as she shows off client's stunted, blunt lashes
WHEN we couldn't get our usual lash lifts in lockdown, we couldn't help but reach for the eyelash curlers everyday.
Now that our go-to salons are back open, we haven't given our DIY beauty treatments a second thought – that said, until we saw this beautician's horrifying warning.
In a viral TikTok video, Ipek Ozcan – who runs IPS Salon in London – urged people to NEVER use curlers on their natural lashes.
The beautician wrote: "So today while I was cleansing my client's lashes, I noticed so many natural lashes that looked like they'd been cut."
Filming the short, stunted lashes, Ipek continued: "They looked blunt.
"Do you know why they look this way? It's because she uses eyelash curlers!"
Picking apart the fake lashes from the broken real ones, the beautician claimed: "They're a quick fix for getting lifted lashes but they are so damaging and literally cut your natural lashes!"
The expert then warned her 502,000 followers to "step away from the eyelash curlers" and only use them when you've had a lift.
Instead, she recommended using a heated curler which doesn't clamp down on lashes or having a lift to achieve a voluminous look.
The clip has racked up over one MILLION "likes" since it was uploaded three days ago.
Eyelash curlers are a quick fix for getting lifted lashes but they are so damaging and literally cut your natural lashes!
And needless to say, it left viewers horrified.
One replied: "I ALREADY THOUGHT MY LASHES GOT SHORTER WHAT."
"Thank you for scaring me," another added. "I won't use it anymore."
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "I've lost all my lashes twice [from using curlers]."

However, others insisted that curlers are fine as long as you use them correctly.
"I've been using eyelash curlers for years and that only happens if you use a really bad one or you do it incorrectly," one said.
Another wrote: "I put waterproof mascara on so my curls stay – I've never had this problem luckily."
