THE BEST part about ordering things online is that they usually arrive within a couple of days.

But that's far from the case for one woman, after she was told her ASOS parcel will take 803 days to arrive – over two years after placing the order.

Kerri Kinsella, 30, from Dublin, ordered some New Balance trainers for her friend through the online shop, which were due to be delivered by the company Fast Way.

After getting an email saying her order had been delayed, she realised it was a lot longer than expected – 803 days to be exact.

"I actually laughed out loud thinking it was some kind of joke and to add in it was 803 working days," Kerri told NeedToKnow.Online.

"The order made was for a pair of New Balance trainers on my account as I specifically paid for next-day delivery service for a year, which is maybe why I find the delivery time so hilarious.

"I initially got the email to say it's delayed and just passed the message on to my friend.

"I didn't read too much into it, just a quick glance.

"It was only when she asked me to see if it had a new date that I noticed the email said 803 days.

"I was thinking to myself, the trainers she ordered would probably be in fashion now, go out of fashion and arrive back in fashion by the time they are delivered!"

Luckily, Kerri believes the blunder was just a "glitch in the system".

She continued: "When we went to track the item from the delivery service it had said delivery received in the hub so I knew it wouldn't spend the next two years there.

"We laughed about it but it just confirmed to never ever trust ASOS next day delivery."

The 30-year-old posted about the incident on Twitter and immediately caught the attention of thousands of users – with more than 2,000 likes.

One person said: "I’d nearly keep it just to see if it actually arrives in 803 days lol."

"Hope this is a glitch," added someone else.

Another person joked: "Better late than never."

"Omg hope it’s worth the wait,” added someone else.

Another person had a similar issue with their order appearing to be delayed by 1,243 days.

An ASOS spokesperson told Jam Press: “We’re aware that some customers have received emails stating their parcel won’t be delivered for quite a while.

“We’re sorry for the mistake caused by a technical issue on our side, which has now been resolved.
