Bridezilla complains wedding party won’t take off face masks for photos

A bride-to-be has been blasted for moaning her wedding party won't take off their face masks for photos.

The despairing bride explained that a flower girl, ring bearer and two of her groomsmen have refused to take their masks off at the wedding.

She said she was "struggling" with their refusal.

The woman reached out to others to ask if anyone else had "gone through anything similar".

She wrote: "2 of our groomsmen (1 is my brother & 1 is his brother) will not take masks off at our wedding – NOT even for photos.

"Our flowergirl & ring bearer are also my brother's kids, also no masks not being taken off.

"We have 4 groomsmen & 4 bridesmaids. Has anyone else gone through anything similar?? I'm struggling."

But instead of sympathy she was slammed for holding a "plague party' when her post was shared on Reddit.

One person said: “I’m struggling”. Well s**t, Jennifer, that’s really sad to hear. You know who else is struggling?

"People in the hospital and the professionals caring for them, people with permanent heart and lung damage, and people who’ve lost loved ones.

"She’s lucky people are going to her plague party at all. Good for all those people for refusing to remove masks."

Someone else wrote: "For f***s sake why are people still having weddings?

"I personally know of a recent wedding where the bride, groom, and most of the family of the groom caught COVID and the father of the groom died a few weeks later – this disease hasn’t been cured yet and it also didn’t go away just because we’ve grown bored with lockdown."

Another simply wrote: "I hope no one turns up."

Some suggested trying to team their facemasks with their outfits to make them a feature of the wedding.

Somebody wrote: "What I don't understand is why these crazy people don't buy fancy spangled masks that match the tuxes or dresses (they should love that – one more Very Special thing to buy and obsess over!) and make them a feature of the wedding?"

While another person said: "My friend had to go to her brother-in-law’s wedding recently and wore a matching dress and mask.

"Apparently when she got her dress altered at Nordstrom they made a mask with the excess fabric without her even having to ask…. good idea for anyone else being forced to attend a COVID wedding!"

While others said that face masks in the wedding photos would make it a "historical document".

"100 years from now, your wedding photos are going to be historical documents, unlike 99% of weddings," said one person.

A fellow bride said that her wedding photos were "full of masks".

She wrote: "It’s a little sad to not see the full expressions on everyone’s faces, but THAT’S WHAT WE SIGNED UP FOR WHEN WE CHOSE TO GET MARRIED NOW VS POSTPONE.

"This is not Disneyland, you are not a child, reality involves outcomes and consequences and ripple effects."
