McDonald’s is axing four menu items tomorrow – including spicy quarter pounder
McDonald’s is ditching four of its menu items tomorrow.
In a fast food shakeup, the eatery is axing its Spicy Quarter Pounder Burger.
The £4.79 proved divisive since it launched – with some insisting mixing beef patties with pepper jack cheese, onions, jalapeños, mustard and hot ketchup is “too spicy”.
Sadly, the Quarter Pounder Deluxe will also be vanishing this week.
The £4.89 treat consists of a beef patty, lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, onions, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and bacon.
McDonald’s is also removing its McChicken BLT from its menu.
The McChicken sandwich, which also contains bacon, will no longer be sold for £5.19.
Nacho cheese wedges are set to disappear too.
Until now, the spicy potato bites sold for £1.79 for a packet of five or in a sharebox with 15 pieces for £4.79
The news is bound to disappoint some – but it’s not all bad.
McDonald’s is launching its festive menu on November 18 so there’ll be plenty of new items to try.
The fast food giant will be selling Double Big Macs during the festive period.
This gut-busting menu item is twice as big with its four patties and stacks of cheese, lettuce, onions and Big Mac sauce.
You may recognise the menu item because it looks similar to the Mega Mac – or from the US menu – but it’s the first time it’s been brought to the UK.
Maccies fans with a large appetite should know it’s the biggest burger on the menu.
When it launches on November 18, you’ll be able to pick it up for £4.19 on its own or in a meal deal for £5.69.
McDonald’s will also be launching a Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich.
You can purchase it later this month from £4.39 for the sandwich on its own or £5.69 in a meal deal.
And on the side, you'll be able to order Maccies popular cheese dippers again.
You can get a portion of the oozy dippers for £1.79 or go all out with a sharebox for £4.79.
Then finish off festive meals with something sweet, there’s plenty of options available.
A Celebrations McFlurry will be available from 99p for a mini size or £1.39 for a regular version.
The creamy ice cream is flavoured with bits of Maltesers, Galaxy, Mars and Twix bars.
It’s then topped with an indulgent caramel sauce.
Alternatively, wash everything down with McDonald’s new salted caramel latte.
It costs £1.69 and has been branded “a hug in a mug” – perfect for cold winter evenings.
