My fiancé thinks I cheated and is insisting I buy a lie-detector

DEAR DEIDRE: MY fiancé wants to buy a lie-detector and ask me if I have ever cheated.

I never have, so I don’t know why he is doing this. I’m 28 and he is 30.

He turned nasty towards me during lockdown, not violent but spiteful.

He keeps saying he wants a separation and that he’s going to leave me later this year.

I’m worried I will fail a test even though I’m telling the truth because I’ll be nervous.

I can’t remember my past as well as I used to but I’ve never cheated on him.

DEIDRE SAYS: These lie detectors aren’t reliable, so don’t agree to it. This has nothing to do with you telling the truth or not.

He is a controlling bully and you need to get help to free yourself from him. He will never make you happy. He said he will leave you anyway, so don’t wait.
