Defiant Tottenham FINE Harry Kane for his training no-show and will not reduce £160m asking price for Man City transfer

HARRY KANE and Tottenham are at war after the England captain went AWOL in an attempt to force a £160million move to Manchester City.

Kane failed to report back for duty at Hotspur Way yesterday and is insistent that Daniel Levy agreed he can leave Spurs this summer.

Kane’s no-show is understood to have ‘disappointed’ Spurs, who are set to fine the Three Lions skipper.

And the move has gone down badly with chairman Levy, who is now ready to double down on his position that he will not be bullied into lowering the asking price for his star player.

After a summer where relations between Kane and the club remained civil, things have turned ugly less than a fortnight before the Prem season kicks off.

Kane, 28, is convinced he struck a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Levy which would allow him to leave.

A source told SunSport: “As far as Harry is concerned, the club have agreed he can leave.

“Now it is just a case of  the money men doing their bit.”

Spurs remain adamant no such agreement is in place — and plan to hit  their vice-captain with  disciplinary action for a  breach of contract by failing to report back after his summer break.

Kane is set to be fined for every day he continues his no-show stance.

Even members of the Tottenham squad are said to have been surprised that the star, who still  has three years left on his contract, took the  ultimate step of refusing to turn up for work.

It is understood that Levy expected Kane to demand talks over the course of this week — but was caught out by his decision to stay away.

And Levy is demanding a huge offer in the region of £160m.

As far as Harry is concerned, the club have agreed he can leave.

City are willing to come up with £100m, plus a choice of players, in an attempt to get a deal.

That has so far been ruled out by Levy — but the centre-forward hopes his behaviour will leave the club with no option.

Kane had been due to show for a Covid test yesterday in order to start fitness work. It is not clear when he will next report for duty.

New boss Nuno Espirito Santo was categorical on this subject when probed during his first press conference at the start of pre-season,

He said: "Harry is our player, period. No need to talk about anything else.

"Harry is one of the best players in the world, that says it all. I have no doubts in my mind.

"What I wish is for Harry to recover well, to have a good rest and when he arrives he will feel that every one of us has to commit ourselves to become better. We are very ambitious people and we want to do it well, and no doubts on Harry on that."

Kane himself told Gary Neville before the end of last season: "I hope we have a good enough relationship.

"I've given the club… well, I've been there 16 years of my life. So, I hope that we can have a good, honest conversation and see where we are at in that aspect."
