New world champion Ruiz asks Eddie Hearn ‘who is next?’ after destroying Joshua

ANDY RUIZ JR is already plotting his next heavyweight scalp after stunning the boxing world.

The 19st Mexican pulled off one of the sport's biggest upsets by snatching Anthony Joshua's title belts with his seventh round knockout win.

He only got the chance to take on the previously undefeated Brit after Jarrell Miller failed a drugs test.

And now it appears he is ready to take on anyone following his message to promoter Eddie Hearn.

Not even verified on Twitter yet, Ruiz simply said: "who is next??"

He also changed his Twitter header picture to a Snickers chocolate bar, possibly hitting back at those that wrote him off for being fat.

Hearn, who labelled AJ "sloppy" following the loss, is already targeting a rematch in the UK towards the end of the year.

The former WBA, IBF and WBO champ will exercise the rematch clause in the contract.

Hearn said: “AJ got sloppy. He got caught and never recovered.

“AJ will be back – we'll make the rematch in the UK in November or December.”

Ruiz, a 25-1 shot before the scrap, has become a national hero after becoming the first Mexican to be crowned heavyweight champ.

He said of his victory: "This is what I've been dreaming about. I've made my dreams come true.

“I just thank god so much. I've got that Mexican blood in me.”

Joshua, who will now miss out on clashes with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, insisted he will bounce back.

He said "It's an upset, it's unexpected. I was the favourite.

"One shot hit me on the top of the dome and rattled me a bit. I tried to stay in there a few more rounds but the better man won.

"I don't underestimate anyone. He's a decent puncher, a decent fighter. He was the better man.

"I'll tidy up, brush off the cobwebs and go again. But it's a minor setback."
