WWE legend Kurt Angle repeats claim that Brock Lesnar has told him ‘several times’ he wants UFC fight with Jon Jones

KURT ANGLE teased fans by repeating claims Brock Lesnar wants a UFC fight with Jon Jones.

The WWE legend first made noises about a potential Lesnar vs Jones contest in the octagon last year.

He told The Ariel Helwani Show: "I know he [Lesnar] said that he’s retired.

"The one fight he wants, and I don’t know if it’s ever going to happen, but he wants to go up against Jon Jones."

And now WWE Hall of Famer Angle, 51, has touted the fight once again.

The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically lowered Lesnar's stock with the 43-year-old now technically a free agent after his WWE contract ended.

Many expect him to return to wrestling when a deal can be brokered but he may launch a UFC comeback to take on Jones, 33.

Speaking on the Wrestling Inc podcast with Nick Hausemen, Angle said: "Brock’s told me that several times, that’s who he wants… I think that might be the only way to get Brock to fight.

"I think he just wants Jones."

Jones has ditched his light heavyweight championship to mix it with the big boys in the heavyweight division.

Lesnar last fought in the UFC in 2016 but organisation boss Dana White would welcome a return to take on Jones.

White said: "It would be a good introduction for Jones into the heavyweight division. If they wanted to do it, I would do it."

Lesnar is the only man to have ever held both the UFC heavyweight title and the WWE Championship.

But Jones does have other options for his first heavyweight bout.

He could go straight for a title fight against champ Stipe Miocic but may have to wait for Miocic to rematch Francis Nagnnou.
