World leaders have descended on Glasgow for COP26 and The One Show presenters Alex Scott and Gethin Jones decided to relocate the BBC show for the duration of the summit. However, viewers blasted the broadcaster for being “contradictory” by pointing out the carbon footprint involved by moving The One Show studio.

@baz272 tweeted: “I really don’t think they understand how contradictory #TheOneShow is tonight.

“Quotes ‘all the traffic’, ‘we have come to Glasgow’, ‘Bear Grylls has travelled all around the globe’, ‘the world leader have all come’. Do they not see the irony?”

@TracyGreaves24 added: “Why does the #OneShow need to be in Glasgow? Presumably, the presenters have flown there or at least had to travel there in some way #TheOneShow #COP26 #Unnecessary.”

“Oh the irony talking about being green when taking #TheOneShow to Scotland when they can do the broadcast from the regular studio,” @LadyFerny wrote.

@DdubEternalLove shared: “They all travelled to #COP26 don’t think they did it without causing a climate fuss #TheOneShow.”

“’Is the end nigh’ OK, time to switch off from the utter tosh. #TheOneShow,” @messybeckie said.

@SimonJonesinUK remarked: “#theoneshow Turning into some sort of party political broadcast now.”
