Brian Conley thinks the ghost of his late dad helped him get a job on EastEnders.
The comedy legend, 60, was thrilled when he was offered a role as cheeky Terry Cant earlier this year.
And he thinks his dad Colin made it happen from beyond the grave.
He told the Daily Star Sunday : “My father, who passed away 20 years ago, was a big fan of Enders.
“I’m a big believer in fate and I’m convinced he was up there pulling the strings.”
Colin, who died in 1998, used to work on EastEnders in the props department.
And he even put up posters of Brian around the set in a bid to help boost his son’s career.
Brian added: “My dad would have loved to have seen me on the show, without a doubt. I know he’d be proud of me.
“I am lucky I was at a certain level of my career while he was still around.”
Brian still can’t believe his luck that he’s working on EastEnders all these years after his dad was there.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to be on the show and it has been fantastic. I’m delighted to be part of it.”
Brian is set to be at the centre of the action over Christmas as his character was exposed as an imposter. The star admits it’s a dream playing the role because he gets to play himself.
Brian said: “My character is a cheeky cockney guy. He’s got the gift of the gab, he’s wheeling dealing. He’s a cheeky cockney and that’s me.
“I’ve established an entire career on that. As the months have gone on, they’re writing it more for me.”

Show bosses have gone all out to keep this year’s Christmas storylines top secret – even keeping some cast members in the dark.
But it is rumoured there will be two weddings over the festive period.
Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) are also set to feature in big storylines.
