Charlene White and Carol McGiffin couldn't see eye to eye on Thursday's afternoon's Loose Women as they engaged in a heated debate over Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The two panellist appeared on the show with varying views about Boris' latest speech and his infamous slogan "build back better".

Charlene appeared to agree that PM's speech was written to hopefully uplift the nation even though it had fairly comical moments. But Carol couldn't disagree more and blasted that Boris is currently not popular.

However, Charlene reminded Carol that the polls state otherwise and he is still winning the nation's approval.

Seeing the awkward scenes unfold viewers shared their views on the pair's heated discussion.

One fan penned: "What is Charlene White on?!! Boris Is a popular prime minister at the moment??! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t think the guy is a complete p*****k who can’t be trusted."

Another said: "Blimey if Carol has turned on Boris Johnson you know it’s bad."

While a third viewer shared: "BoZo is a crass idiot that has no interest in "levelling up" unless it involves levelling up his and his chums bank balances at the expense of ordinary working people."

"Is Carol a leftie by any chance?" Another questioned.

Boris' latest speech has certainly left the nation divided, as many have questioned whether he would be able to fulfil his plans.

In the Conservative conference that took place in Manchester earlier this week, Boris shared his plans for "levelling up" Britain.

The PM said: "We have one of the most imbalanced societies and lopsided economies of all the richer countries.

"It is not just that there is a gap between London and the south-east and the rest of the country: there are aching gaps within the regions themselves."
