EastEnders fans have been left fearing for Tommy Moon as Monday's episode saw him fall from a window after a fire explosion at the Mitchell household.

During the dramatic episode, Janine Butcher discovered that her daughter Scarlett was hiding with her half-brother, Tommy, as he locked the trio in a room, throwing away the key.

However, they didn't realise that a fire had started in the property and they frantically tried to escape once discovering that smoke was filling up the home.

The trio eventually managed to break out of the room as they made their way downstairs but Scarlett accidentally let go of a scared Tommy's hand and he ran back upstairs.

After making sure Scarlett safely got out of the home, Janine headed back up to save Tommy but discovered that it was too dangerous to go back downstairs.

Janine was able to open a window as she lifted Tommy to safety as a fire engine made its way to the house but just before it could arrive an explosion took place as the youngster fell to the ground.

The episode ended with Tommy being rushed off to hospital in an ambulance as his horrified mother Kat Slater walked towards the house and saw that her son was in danger.

She screamed: "Tommy, Tommy, no?!" as paramedics were seen checking him over following the terrifying incident.

Taking to Twitters, fans were quick to share their concern for Tommy following the dramatic scenes.

One person said: "Please hope Tommy will be OK #Eastenders @bbceastenders."

A different account put: 'EastEnders not looking good for Tommy," followed by sad emojis.

Another follower commented: 'No 🙁 Kat can't lose Tommy:( #EastEnders."

While a different account added: "I don’t think Tommy is going to make it #EastEnders," followed by crying emojis.

With everyone distracted by the fire, including her husband Mick Carter, Jack was forced to play midwife as he helped deliver her baby as he received medical advice over the phone.
