Liam (played by Alfie Deegan) stunned sisters Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) when he turned up on Albert Square. But the EastEnders family have no idea that their brother seems to be up to something. He was heard making suspicious phone calls and later stole Whitney’s ring. In upcoming episodes of the BBC soap, he teams up with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) in a bid to make some money. After ignoring calls from Cindy (Mimi Keene), the former resident might just decide to come back to Walford as well.
Last week, Liam was on the phone with an unknown person, explaining they would “have money soon”.
He later stole Whitney’s ring and allowed Dotty Cotton’s (Milly Zero) mum Sandy Gibson (Martha Cope) to take the blame.
It doesn’t stop there though, with official soap spoilers confirming Liam is set to team up with troublemaker Janine.
In upcoming scenes, Liam ignores a call from Cindy as Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) arrives to say his sister’s also been in touch with him wanting money.
Janine ends up covering for Liam, who is grateful to his aunt.
Later at The Arches, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) leaves Liam on his own and he’s struck with an idea.
Is he planning to begin stealing from the company in a desperate attempt to make the money he owes?
Janine later spots Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and asks him for a job at the car lot.
However, knowing what Janine is like, Jay is believing none of her nice act and refuses.
Determined to get her way, Janine then fills Liam in on her plan.
It becomes clear that Janine has reverted back to her old, manipulative ways.
She may have struck a deal with Liam to help him make extra money at the car lot, as long as she takes a share.
Liam puts the plan in motion by bigging Janine’s selling skills up to Jay, who falls for it.
Janine ups the ante with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), who gives her an ultimatum – quit the plan or he’ll tell Jay everything.
But the scheming Janine finds a way to get what she wants.
Her plan ends up working a treat for both her and Liam.

Could Cindy destroy their plans by turning up in Walford, though?
If the couple are in trouble over in Germany and owe someone money, she may come running back to London to escape just like Liam.
With her in Walford, the truth about Liam’s return will be revealed to his family.
They may find out he’s been stealing from them, and it’s likely Jay and Ben would also realise what has been going on.
However, it might all come out once it’s too late.
If Janine and Liam are plotting a seriously risky scheme, they might make the amount of money they want before going on the run.
Janine is likely trying to make fast money to escape with her daughter Scarlett Butcher (Tabitha Byron).
As for Liam, if he decides to abandon Cindy, he might be hoping to break all ties and go on the run alone.
By the time Cindy clocks on to what he’s doing and follows him back to Walford, will he still be around?
Viewers will remember Liam and Cindy leaving the Square back in 2015.
The young couple decided to flee Walford with Cindy’s young daughter, Beth, after Cindy had initially decided to put her up for adoption.
When Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) expressed an interest in adopting the youngster, Cindy didn’t take the news well.
To escape this, she and Liam decided to move to Germany, and they haven’t been seen on the screen since.
But with Liam back, it seems only a matter of time before Cindy tracks him down.
EastEnders continues on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
