Emmerdale star Kris Mochrie lands new role after quitting soap as rapist Lee Posner

EMMERDALE star Kris Mochrie has landed himself a new TV role after quitting the soap as rapist Lee Posner.

The actor was last seen on our screens back in October 2019 after he was killed by Robert Sugden.

We can now reveal that Kris will be back on your screens very soon.

The telly favourite – who has also had roles in Bulletproof, The Bill, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road – will star in the latest series of ITV's Vera.

It has been reported that Kris will appear in one episode, however his role could turn into something more regular.

The Sun Online have contacted ITV for comment.

Popular crime drama Vera first hit our screens in 2011 and is currently filming it's eleventh series.

The show returned on August 29 2021 with Brenda Blethyn as DCI Vera Stanhope, Kenny Doughty as DS Aiden Healy and Jon Morrison as DC Kenny Lockhart.

Kris made his first appearance in the Dales back in April 2019 when he met Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) at a night club.

Everything seemed very innocent at first, but things took a turn when he raped the chef in her bedroom after their night out.

Kris' alter-ego ended up dead when Victoria's older brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) found out what he had done and whacked him over the head with a shovel, which put him into a coma.

He was last seen on our screens back in October 2019 after he died from an intracerebral haemorrhage.

Before Lee died, Victoria found out that she was expecting her first child and gave birth to Harry in January 2020.

Robert is currently serving 14 years in prison for GBH with intent, but it was recently revealed that he might not have been the only person to blame for his death.

Lee's brother Luke (Max Parker) – who got into a relationship with Victoria after his death – was hiding his true sexuality from his friends and family.

He decided to tell Lee the truth, which ended in the pair having a fight and hitting his head hours before his incident with Robert.
