Bradley Walsh is a popular actor and presenter who is known for hosting the ITV game show, The Chase. The star has been on screens for more than 40 years and he has since revealed his plans for retirement. Fans have been left wondering whether the 61-year-old will be stepping down from his role on The Chase.

Is Bradley Walsh leaving The Chase?

Bradley Walsh is one of the most successful TV hosts as according to The Sun, he has banked £12million from TV gigs.

He has hosted the quiz show The Chase for more than a decade and has a number of other projects in the pipeline.

His latest game show, Take Off With with Holly and Bradley, starts on BBC One on July 24.

The four-part series comes after the one-off Christmas special, which aired back in 2019.

The actor has also bagged a main role in a 2022 series called The Larkins, in which he will play Pop Larkin.

The series is a spin-off to The Darling Buds of May and production is already underway.

With the star’s diary continuing to fill up, he discussed plans to leave the world of TV “in a couple of years’ time”.

He said: “You know what, in a couple of years’ time I won’t have to do any of it, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it.

“It seems like I’m on your screen all the time only because I cram everything in a certain area of the year.”

He went on to list the number of episodes of The Chase and its spin-off series they make in a year.

The Chase has allowed him to pursue other TV projects, including his series Breaking Dad with son Barney.

Fans are worried he may choose to drop the quiz show in order to prioritise other things, but this does not seem to be the case.

In the short term, he is still dedicated to presenting the popular quiz show involving the iconic Chasers.

He will also continue to host the celebrity version of the show, as well as Beat the Chasers.

Back in March 2021, there were rumours he would be leaving the quiz show, but The Governess Anne Hegerty shut down claims.

The speculation came after ITV announced another spin-off called The Chase Extra.

On social media, she confirmed: “None of us is going anywhere. The Chase Extra is just a little show on the ITV website, not replacing anything.”

So fans need not worry about the host stepping down any time soon, at least not for another couple of years.

They have enjoyed watching the presenter bond with the contestants on The Chase, and he has plenty of banter.

He is also known for ‘corpsing’ on set and bursting into fits of laughter at awkward moments.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the news of Walsh’s retirement.

One said: “If Bradley Walsh leaves the chase the chase is over.” [Sic]

Another said they loved seeing him “crack up” on set, and he has definitely kept fans entertained over the years.

Thankfully he will not be leaving the show, or TV screens in general, any time soon.

The Chase airs on ITV.
