Jeremy Clarkson is back with a brand new episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? on Saturday night and ITV viewers will see Conor Kim, a legal assistant from Westminister take on the famous quiz. In a preview clip, the contestant can be seen answering – or failing to answer – the first question for £100, and he is forced to Ask the Host for help.
“Which Keith found fame as a member of the Rolling Stones?” Jeremy asks
The multiple answer choices were: A. Keith Urban, B. Keith Richards, C. Keith Chegwin, D. Keith Lemon.
“What was the face [for]?” Jeremy asks and Conor replies: “I can rule out two of them but… the Rolling Stones isn’t really my music…”
“It’s the Rolling Stones – it’s not music it’s an institution!” Jeremy exclaims.
“Sure… but my biggest fear was first question, using a lifeline, Christ,” the contestant remarks. “Which is not the dream.
“I know Keith Urban is a country singer and I know Keith Lemon is Keith Lemon. Keith Richards and Keith Chegwin, I’m leaning towards Richards but I feel like I’d have blown it if I said Richards and it was Chegwin or it was the other way around.
“I know it must be ridiculous to you as well sat here.”
Jeremy replies: “No, no, I can hear the crew laughing. I can tell you, I don’t think this is really breaking with the rules, to tell you one of those is hilariously wrong.”
“God, I’m going to look like an idiot of TV,” Conor says.
But Jeremy adds: “No, you already are doing that.”
The contestant finally decides: “I’m going to get this out of the way, Jeremy can I ask you please?”
“Yes, you can,” the presenter says and Conor continues: “It’s going to be Keith Richards – I know it’s going to be Keith Richards!”
“I can hardly believe.. that I’m being paid to give you this answer,” Jeremy comments. “Here’s what I think; it so isn’t Keith Chegwin.
“I can’t actually think of anybody… maybe Pam Heirs is more ridiculous? It’s Keith Richards. And that is my final answer.”
“Ah, it’s in TV forever now, Keith Richards, final answer,” Conor agrees.
“Tense moment now…” Jeremy mocks. “Because I helped you, I have to ask the computer to reveal the correct answer. Please can I do that now.”
“The thing is, I got it all out the way,” Conor remarks.
Jeremy says: “Look at it this way, a lot of contestants come on this show, and people, without wishing to be rude, forget about them quite quickly afterwards. You will be remembered for many, many years.”
As for how Conor fares in the rest of the quiz, he perhaps surprisingly makes it to the £250,000 point – but how much money does he go home with?
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire returns tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.
