Loose Women’s Carol McGiffin posts swimsuit throwback shots when she was 28 saying 'I look fabulous'
LOOSE Women's Carol McGiffin took a swipe at people who post throwback pics as she posted one of her own.
The presenter, 60, shared a stunning photo of herself in St Tropez when she was 28 to point out how easy it was to make yourself look good on Instagram.
Wearing a two-piece black John Galliano swimsuit, Carol posed by the French sea with drinks in hand.
She captioned the photos: "Throwback Thursday. Often used as an excuse to post pictures that get a lot of ‘ooh you look fabulous’ type comments.
"Well tonight Matthew I’m going to be one of those people!!! But the difference is, I already know I look fabulous in these pics and it’s because I was TWENTY EIGHT years old!!!
"And what’s more I STILL HAVE THAT SWIMSUIT!!! It was a two piece by John Galliano @jgalliano and is in my dressing up box."
Carol added that she first visited the area more than 30 years ago and remembered it on a recent trip back to the same spot.
"The pics were taken on my first trip to St Tropez and Port Grimaud in 1988.
"Bloody hell, thirty two years ago, and when I went there recently I stood on that pier and thought it looked familiar….but it didn’t click.
"Brilliant memories brought back by photographs again."
Her fans loved her confidence and rushed to shower her with compliments.
One Instagram user wrote: "Thought it was a recent photo!"
While another added: "I think the ageing process for you has stopped, gorgeous then, gorgeous now."
And a third said: "And still looking as fab…if not better tbh 👌🏼🧡🧡❤❤"
Carol's throwback comes as she revealed her heartbreak over Girls Aloud star, Sarah Harding's cancer diagnosis.
Sarah revealed last week she is having weekly doses of chemotherapy after the disease spread to other parts of her body.
Carol, 60, learnt she had cancer in 2014 after discovering a lump in her left breast that she found out was a tumour.
She has now been cancer-free for five years but lives in fear that it will return and today said her heart went out to Sarah.
Speaking on Loose Women, Carol said that Sarah would be been through the mill from the moment she got the diagnosis.
She explained: "I really feel for Sarah because it is the hardest thing. You get the diagnosis and you get used to that but then you have to tell other people – it's difficult.
"I only told my family and really close friends, but with every single one of them I had to make a real proper effort to think it through and make a time and place to do it.
"For her to have to do that and put it on social media and tell the world straight away is, well, I feel for her.
"It's devastating, especially as she's been given the terrible news it's spread."
The long-time Loose Women panellist added: "I wish her so much love. I do know where she's coming from."
