Love Island: Viewers ‘furious’ over show’s explanation of Sherif Lanre’s shock exit from the show
Love Island has addressed Sherif Lanre’s shock exit from the show on Tuesday’s episode.
The 20-year-old chef was booted from the villa after “breaking” the show’s rules, with Sherif branding the incident a “case of poor judgement”.
The show addressed the situation as voiceover Iain Stirling told viewers: “Following a conversation with producers, Sherif decided to leave the villa.”
Viewers at home were left unimpressed with the “brief” announcement, with no further comment being made.
“Sherif left the villa? That’s it?,” one tweeted.

A second added: “What?! no explanation?”
Following his exit, Sherif released a statement on what happened, as viewers continue to speculate on what really caused his departure.
Sherif said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
"I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
A Love Island spokesman told OK! online: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa."
Just nine days into his appearance, Sherif was growing close to Anna Vakili, who will reportedly remain on the show and be given another chance of finding love.
It is not yet known what rule he broke to be ejected from the villa.
He was the second boy to enter, and found himself on the subs bench after no girl stepped forward for him – later coupling with pharmacist Anna by default.
