Lucifer season 5 Netflix release date, cast, trailer, plot: When is the new series out?
Lucifer has been on a rollercoaster ride since FOX confirmed last year they were cancelling the show due to poor ratings. After a passionate fan campaign, the show was rescued by Netflix and debuted on the platform in May 2019 with 10 episodes. Season five of Lucifer is going to be the final outing for the show fronted by British actor Tom Ellis.
When will Lucifer season 5 be released on Netflix?
Netflix has yet to confirm a release date for Lucifer season five and it’s a little premature for one to be announced as the show has only just got the green light.
Season five is most likely to be out in May 2020, judging by the Netflix drop for the fourth cycle, but again this could be subject to change.
Lucifer season four was truncated to just 10 instalments from its 20-odd episode runs when it was on FOX and we can expect a similar length for the final series.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES OF LUCIFER?
Netflix confirmed in a statement it had renewed Lucifer for season five, which would the last series.
The streaming platform announced: “We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for.”
Lucifer showrunners said Joe Henderson and Idly Modrovich added: “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms.
“Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!!”
