More Gavin and Stacey confusion as Rob Brydon insists 'nothing's in the works' after Larry Lamb vows 'there'll be more'

THE confusion around Gavin and Stacy continues as cast member Rob Brydon insists 'nothing's in the works'.

However, his co-star Larry Lamb, 73, shares a totally different view, as he teased 'there'll be more' new episodes.

Despite show creator James Corden saying 'they will do another special at some point', Rob, 55, is unaware of any new episodes being filmed.

He told BBC Breakfast on Monday: "There is certainly nothing in the works – unless they are doing it without me, I certainly haven't heard that.

"But last year's special, which did so well, is being repeated this year, I think on Christmas Eve."

He added: "It was so much fun to watch that last year, especially at the end with the proposal that took people by surprise. It was so lovely to be part of that as well."

On the other hand, former EastEnders star Larry Lamb believes more episodes of Gavin and Stacey will be made due to the success of last year's Christmas special.

Larry told the Daily Telegraph: "After how well the Christmas special went down last year, it's highly unlikely there won't be more."

The actor added that he was "ready" and waiting for the script – joking that if it came too late, they'd have to start the episode at his "grave".

He explained: "I just hope they knock another one out before I'm dead. That or they can start at the graveside."

While Gavin & Stacey hasn't returned for another Christmas special this year, the BBC did confirm it would be back "one day".

Last year's Christmas special was a ratings boon for the BBC, after a massive 11.6million viewers watched it live.

Gavin & Stacey is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
