Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were back on Thursday to present the latest edition of BBC Breakfast. The pair were also joined by Carol Kirkwood, who was in the studio to give the latest weather report. However, during one segment, Carol was left red-faced when she made an error with Naga’s name.

As Carol wrapped up her report, she said: “The Winds will be lighter, just a few showers coming in from the north-west and our temperatures ranging from nine to 13 degrees, Nana.”

Realising her mistake, Carol quickly apologised to her co-star: “Naga sorry, we’ve got a producer called Nana.”

Hitting back at the blunder, Naga replied: “You say that every single time and I come and visit you and have a cup of tea or bring you a cup of tea and have a nice chat, I’ve never met Nana.

“I think Nana is a phantom producer that you just make up so you can abuse me by mispronouncing my name.”

“The shame, Naga, the shame,” Carol joked back which prompted the presenter to laugh.

“Nana is very much alive and kicking and very lovely with it.”
