Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen horrified after youngest daughter 'rips clumps of her hair out'

OUR Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen was left horrified after her youngest daughter 'ripped clumps of her hair out'.

The 46-year-old shepherdess has nine children with husband Clive, 67, from eldest daughter Raven, 20 to youngest of the bunch Nancy, three.

Discussing their day-to-day life running a busy farm in Ravenseat and managing all their children, Amanda wrote in her book Tales From the Farm that she spends most her time with Nancy.

She said: "On most occasions, it’s just the sheepdog and myself, though my daughter Nancy still likes to travel in the backpack as I do my rounds, master of all she surveys."

Amanda explained how all of her children have travelled in the same way as she tends to her flock.

But despite being well strapped in, Nancy is still able to get enough space to grab at her mother's blonde hair from time to time.

Amanda wrote: "All of my children have travelled via this conveyance; held securely by the straps, they don’t move, even when I lean forwards to pick up canches of hay.

"Nancy wears an all-in-one padded suit with attached booties and mittens that I tie in place with baler twine.

“Cold hands and feet are a misery I want to spare her. But I have discovered over time that mittens for baby are also essential in the prevention of bald patches on my head.

“Tearing my hair out over a missing sheep or a bad forecast is one thing. But Nancy’s tiny fingers ripping clumps free is a definite no-no."

Meanwhile, Amanda recently left fans drooling with her glamorous transformation.

The shepherdess ditched the getup she would normally wear to tend to her flock of sheep in the Yorkshire Dales for a lovely day out.

She donned a pretty blue and white flowery dress with a lovely straw summer hat.

Our Yorkshire Farm airs on Channel 5.
