Piers Morgan suggests GMB guest ‘didn’t know who Andi Peters was’ as pair clash

Piers Morgan has only been back on Good Morning Britain for a matter of hours, and he has already clashed with his ITV rival Andi Peters.

The two presenters have a long-running jokey feud, never missing the opportunity to take playful swipes at one another live on-air.

This morning’s instalment was no exception, as Andi joined GMB to host the competition segment, chatting with Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid.

The 50-year-old spent the last month fronting Lorraine, taking over from Lorraine Kelly as she enjoyed some well-deserved time off.

As he caught up with Piers and Susanna in the early hours of this morning, Andi revealed Chancellor Rishi Sunak had praised his presenting chops.

However, Piers was quick to scoff, insisting he didn’t believe the Chancellor had the spare time to spend watching daytime TV.

Andi was determined to defend himself, and recalled how "we chatted a bit and he was really nice, genuinely a lovely bloke".

Piers then took another swipe, suggesting the Chancellor didn’t have a clue who Andi was, as he asked: "Do you think he actually knew who you were?"

Offended, Andi replied: "Piers, he absolutely knew who I was."

"The way you slipped in, 'Yeah the Chancellor was watching me on Lorraine,' I mean, really?" Piers scoffed.

Thankfully, Piers managed to bring his nasty comments to an end in the moments that followed, as he praised Andi’s performance on Lorraine.

He confessed: "I have to say, I watched the first couple of days and to my great dismay you were actually very good."

Let’s call it a truce!
