Serial killer Richard Ramirez's prison pen pal blast's Netflix's Night Stalker for VERY disturbing reason

SERIAL killer Richard Ramirez's prison pen pal has blasted Netflix's Night Stalker for a VERY disturbing reason.

The four-part series tracks serial killer and serial rapist Richard, who carried out his crimes during the 1980s before being imprisoned in San Quentin State Prison.

Ramirez would climb through open windows in Los Angeles and ransack his victims' homes before raping and killing them, marking the crime scenes with pentagrams.

He was eventually arrested and convicted of 13 murders, five attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults, and 14 burglaries at the age of 29 in 1989.

Like many infamous criminals and killers, Ramirez received letters from curious members of the public, including a person called Teemu, who received two letters back from the murderer.

Having corresponded with Ramirez, who died nearly eight years ago, Teemu believes Night Stalker has made a big mistake by dedicating too much screen time to the two detectives who eventually caught the killer.

He told Express.co.uk: "It was an opportunity wasted, where they could have educated people about Ramirez, what really happened and the darkness of this guy.

"I understand from an intellectual-level that someone sat in a production meeting and said, ‘We’re going to get a lot of flack so let's concentrate on the good guys!’

“That’s profound and admirable but the show is wooden, a little overrated and overblown – Netflix hyped it up but it was very superficial.”

Teemu wishes the documentary had explored more of Ramirez's background to get a better of understanding of how he became the monster he was.

He said: "It’s not mentioned at all – just in passing – but he witnessed his cousin kill his wife, which was a major point in his life.

"That was when sexual relationships and violence became merged in his own mind and started to become part of his own extension to inflict pain.

"“People are not really told about Ramirez, which is a kind of sad and dark realisation but it’s not a very interesting show."

Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer is available on Netflix.
