Strictly’s HRVY confirmed to return to dance floor despite positive Covid test

Strictly star HRVY has been given the all-clear to dance after his coronavirus scare.

The singer, 21, tested positive for COVID-19 last week and was ordered into isolation.

His place on the BBC show was left in doubt.

But yesterday he was celebrating after medics declared that he had no symptoms and was no longer positive.

It means he will join the other 11 celebrities in the new series which starts Saturday, October 17.

HRVY – real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell – tweeted his fans saying: "He's free from Covid, he's a free elf now … thank you for all the kind messages.

"I tested negative today so I'm back, love you guys and see you all soon."

Meanwhile, plans for a Strictly live tour next year featuring the new set of celebrities such as Caroline Quentin and Jamie Laing have been cancelled.

But that hasn't stopped bosses planning ahead.

Tickets are going on sale next week for Strictly's 2022 tour meaning fans can book to see a live show featuring the stars of 2021 – even though none of them have signed up yet.

HRVY initially confirmed he had tested positive for Covid last week, breaking the news to fans over social media.

He penned: "Hi, wasn't gonna worry anyone and say anything but now the story's out, I have coronavirus, I'm all good, no symptoms, just isolating for the next 10 days.

"Already super bored so prepare yourselves for my Tik toks."

The eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing has been confirmed to begin in a matter of weeks – meaning it's right around the corner.
