The Crown’s Emma Corrin feels ‘sensitive’ to Harry and Meghan situation
The Crown's Emma Corrin has revealed she became "more sensitive" to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's situation after she played the part of his mother Princess Diana in the show.
The 24-year-old actress is playing the role of Diana in the fourth series of the hugely popular Netflix show, and spoke about how the part made her feel for the young royals.
In an interview with USA Today, she discussed whether her perspective on the media attention faced by them has changed since playing Diana.
She said: "It's made me very sensitive to what Harry and Meghan are going through at the moment."
The star added: "I think, just as I feel protective towards anyone who is subjected to that kind of invasive journalism and attention."
In an interview with Sky News, the actress admitted she was "incredibly daunted" ahead of portraying Diana.
When asked if she'd thought about the possibility of Harry and William tuning in the watch, she said: "I try not to think about whether people watch it because I think that's a slippery slope."
"You can't really control if they do and also if you start thinking about, 'I wonder what they'll think…' It's kind of, yeah, it's quite stressful," she added.
Later in the interview, she said about the Netflix show: "I think the crux of The Crown is, look at these icons, look at these figureheads who we think we know. Oh, wait, actually, behind that, behind the closed doors is all this human experience.

"And I really think it's the most fascinating thing to examine these people who are in the most extraordinary circumstance, the strangest kind of existence, and to see the nuances of what they go through.
"So yeah, I guess the pressure and feeling overwhelmed by [Diana] being such a public figure sort of disappeared when I realised it was my interpretation of her, I suppose, that was going to be shown."
