Below Deck Mediterranean returned for season six back in June, introducing an entirely new crew onboard the Lady Michelle. Lloyd Spencer had quickly become a fan-favourite, making viewers laugh as well as cry as he had a particularly emotional heart-to-heart with some of his crewmates. So fans of the Bravo reality series grew concerned when a trailer first came out showing that Lloyd had been sick.

What happened to Lloyd on Below Deck Mediterranean?

The midseason trailer of Below Deck Mediterranean season six teased there would be something wrong with Lloyd.

In the clips, there were glimpses of the popular crew member complaining of chest pains and throwing up.

So viewers became worried for his welfare, eager to find out what was wrong.

More details started to emerge when the episode came out on Monday, October 4.

The Lady Michelle crew were seen preparing for the final charter of the series when Lloyd didn’t seem like himself.

He appeared sluggish and wasn’t performing his duties to the best of his ability as normal.

The situation turned serious though when Lloyd started vomiting while inflating the swim platform.

He went on to complain to Malia White that he was experiencing tightness in his chest and stomach.

She instructed him to take it easy before getting Captain Sandy involved.

The Captain took Lloyd’s blood pressure which was far higher than expected.

So she ordered Lloyd a water taxi so he could be taken to shore and receive proper medical attention.

Describing the situation on the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, Lloyd said: “I felt almost disembodied from the minute I woke up.

“I think we were having a meeting, and I just, like, couldn’t focus on what was going on.”

“It got worse and worse, and I vomited in Captain Sandy’s toilet, which wasn’t exactly ideal.”

There has been some speculation that Lloyd was experiencing a panic attack but he hasn’t confirmed this.

The crewmate has stayed pretty tight-lipped about what happened exactly but has commented that he is “absolutely fine” now.

Prior to the show coming out, Lloyd didn’t tell his dad what happened on the Lady Michelle.

So when his dad saw the trailer for the first time, “it scared the living daylights out of him”, Lloyd admitted to Distractify.

Below Deck Mediterranean season six may have come to an end but it isn’t over just yet.

Bravo had already renewed the reality show for another series so fans can expect a seventh series.

A release date hasn’t been announced but season seven will begin sometime in 2022.

Below Deck Mediterranean is available to watch on Bravo, Hayu and Netflix.
