When is the next season of The Repair Shop?

BBC One's The Repair Shop follows a team of expert craftsmen as they endeavor to restore antiques and heirlooms to their former glory.

The show is currently airing repeats on Wednesday nights, but fans are wondering when they can expect to see some new content. Here's everything we know…

When is the next series of The Repair Shop on BBC One?

The most recent series of the restoration show took a break on July 21, 2021.

The eighth series of the program began on the April 21, 2021 and kicked off with two episodes. It then returned in July for two more new episodes, the most recent of which saw the crew restore running shoes from the 1936 Olympics.

It's now set to make another comeback to screens on September 14, 2021 at 8pm on BBC One.

The brand new episode will feature a metal guitar and a beloved – if disheveled – doll.

How can I apply to go on The Repair Shop?

Although there are still plenty of upcoming episodes from series 8 to look forward to, applications to be on the next series are already open on the BBC Take Part website.

On the site, they say that they're keen to hear from either individuals or communities who have "a treasured item that's seen better days".

If you are selected, you don't have to pay for any repairs that the team do – so you can get your sentimental antiques and heirlooms fixed for free!

Where is The Repair Shop located?

The Repair Shop is primarily filmed from the Weald and Downland Living Museum in Singleton, West Sussex.

It's mostly filmed in the Museum's idyllic barn, known as the Court Barn.

The museum is situated close to the picturesque South Downs National Park and is open to visitors to the area year-round.

As well as The Repair Shop's Court Barn, the land houses more than fifty historic buildings, a mill pond, several gardens and even some farm animals.
