Who plays Sean Godfrey in My Mum Tracy Beaker?

TRACY Beaker became a household name with kids growing up in the noughties – and she's returned in a reboot of the much-loved BBC show.

The reboot sees Tracy reunited with childhood friend Sean Godfrey, who is now a professional footballer. But who plays Sean in the new CBBC series?

Who plays Sean Godfrey?

In the new Tracy Beaker reboot, Sean Godfrey is played by actor Jordan Duvigneau.

And like his character Sean, in real life Jordan is also an ex-footballer – and sprinter.

According to a BBC press release, the actor said: "I used to play for Brent Borough before I went and played for Watford for a short while, I had an extended trial there when I was 14.

"I moved on from football shortly after and became a sprinter. I run the 100m in 10.84s."

What other TV shows has he appeared in?

The actor is also known for roles in a variety of series, including US hit drama Homeland, British daytime soap Doctors and Sky series I Hate Suzie.

Currently, Jordan has over 6,000 fans on Instagram.

This following has already grown 2,000 since My Mum Tracy Beaker first aired, according to The Focus.

Who is Sean Godfrey?

In the new reboot, Sean – a childhood friend of Tracy's – saw his life dramatically change after becoming a famous footballer.

The official BBC teaser reads: "Jess Beaker loves her life with her mum Tracy, until famous footballer Sean Godfrey enters the picture!"

In the new reboot of the kids classic, written by Jacqueline Wilson, Tracy is now a mum living on a housing estate in London with her nine-year-old daughter and struggling to make ends meet.

Sean wants to whisk the pair away from their dreary London life.

Speaking of his character, Jordan said to the BBC: "He’s very flash, he’s got a big ego and is used to getting his way. He’s very popular with the ladies.

"He wasn’t like that when Tracy used to know him, so when they meet again and he’s being flashy and egotistical, Tracy’s response is ‘no, I’m ok thanks, bye!’

"He has to really dig deep and make a change if he wants to be serious about being with Tracy and being there for Jess as well."

My Mum Tracy Beaker began on CBBC on Friday, February 12, 2021.

The three-part series continues on Saturday February 13 and Sunday February 14, 2021 at 5pm on each day.
