Dad who starts stripping naked at school meeting told ‘put your pants back on!’

Bizarre footage shows a dad taking a stand for face masks by stripping nearly naked at a school board meeting in Texas.

In the clip, James Akers appears to support the wearing of face masks and makes a fiery speech mocking people who will not follow rules to help others in the coronavirus pandemic.

He then takes off his tie and jacket, followed by a shirt and a vest, and his trousers, before security approaches and a speaker makes him stop while he still has his boxers on.

In the background, other parents appear to be whooping and wolf-whistling at him, while others quietly grumble.

Speaking at the Dripping Springs school board meeting, James says: "I'm here to say that I do not like government or any other entity – just ask my wife – telling me what to do.

"But sometimes I got to push the envelope a bit and I have decided I'm not just going to talk about it, I'm going to walk the walk.

"At work they make me wear this jacket, I hate it.

"They make me wear this shirt and tie, I hate it," he says, while peeling off each of the clothing items in turn.

He says: "On the way other here I ran three stop signs and four red lights, almost killed somebody out there.

"But by God, it's my road too," he continues sardonically. "So I have every right to drive as fast as I want to, make the turns that I want to.

"I got over here to the school today and the parking lot was full so I decided to park wherever I wanted to, which in this case happened to be a handicap space."

It's here that James stripes off his vest and gets his chest out and the first cheers begin, while a member of staff looks shocked.

As he pulls down his trousers, the person filming starts laughing.

James continues: "It's simple protocol, people. We follow certain rules. We follow certain rules for a very good reason."

Dripping Springs Independent School District has a "mask optional" policy, CNN reports.

A speaker then tells the dad: "Mr Akers, I believe you are a swimmer but if you wouldn't mind putting your pants back on for a comment that would be appreciated."

The dad is pulling his trousers back up when the clip ends.
