Harvey Weinstein faces ANOTHER sex assault claim with movie mogul now accused of 17 attacks on 12 victims in UK

DISGRACED Harvey Weinstein is facing yet another sex assault claim.

The former movie mogul is now accused of a total of 17 attacks on 12 different victims in the UK alone after his most recent alleged victim came forward.

Police are investigating the latest allegation that he sexually assaulted a woman in Westminster in the 1990s, the Daily Mail reports.

This is on top of 16 other alleged assaults in London in the late 1980s, 1992, 2010, 2011 and 2015.

And it follows the allegations made by more than 80 women in the US which sparked the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment, intimidation and assault.

This includes accusations by British actress Romola Garai, A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, and model Cara Delevingne.

Hollyoaks star Lysette Anthony has also told how she has horrific nightmares after being "raped twice" by Weinstein, and Strike actress Amber Anderson has claimed he offered sex in return for furthering her career.

The former film producer has "unequivocally denied" all allegations.

But Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence in Erie County, New York, after being found guilty of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and third-degree rape in 2020.

Six of his alleged victims brought a High Court compensation claim for more than £300,000 but this has reportedly been discontinued, sparking speculation a substantial out-of-court settlement had been reached.

Of his many potential victims, one, a former employee of his, claims she was sexually assaulted at London's Savoy Hotel.

The woman alleges she was "summoned to the building" where she was left alone with Weinstein, according to court documents.

Another, who also used to work for Hollywood producer, accused him of undressing himself and sexually assaulting her in a hotel room near Heathrow Airport.

Weinstein, who is locked up at Wende Correctional Facility, is facing a further 11 sexual assault charges in Los Angeles in addition to those in the UK.

His accusers fear they may never see justice as he will likely spend the rest of his life in prison in the US.

Met detectives vowed to continue their investigation following his sentencing, but there is little prospect of extradition soon – plus prosecutors will have to consider if it is in the public interest to charge him.

If convicted, he could face up to 140 years behind bars.

Oxford graduate Rowena Chiu, who accused Weinstein of trying to rape her, previously said: "Those of us who were his employees in London and victims of his in Europe do want to see justice served on our home turf."

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard said: "Officers from the Met's Complex Case Team have now received a total of 12 allegations of sexual assault from victims under Operation Kaguyak."
