Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle had ‘little in common’ – except for tennis

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle had very "little in common beyond some polite chatter," a Royal biographer has claimed.

Meghan, Kate, Prince Harry and Prince William were once dubbed the Fab Four by Royal fans who were keen to see the two couples bond.

The fairytale started off well, with Meghan and Kate pictured laughing together at Wimbledon, something Royal biographer Ingrid Seward said the pair have a "shared interest" in.

Sadly, their friendship didn’t last long and rumours began to swirl about problems within Buckingham Palace.

A source even said Meghan made Kate cry, a claim the Duchess of Sussex sensationally denied in her sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan told Oprah the incident had actually occurred the other way round, stating that Prince William's wife had made her shed a tear during wedding fittings.

Kate is yet to respond to Meghan’s claims, but biographer Ingrid Seward said the deterioration of their relationship probably came down to something a lot simpler than that – the pair had "little in common."

Prince William and Kate "wanted to like Meghan," Ms Seward claims, because Harry was “so madly in love” with her.

Ms Seward said: "Both William and Kate wanted to like Meghan if for no other reason than Harry was so madly in love.

"But the women had little in common beyond some polite chatter and their shared interest in tennis."

  • Kate Middleton 'worried Prince Harry never met Meghan Markle's father' before wedding

She also said Kate was worried about Harry in the lead up to his star-studded wedding at St George’s Chapel with Meghan.

The Duchess of Cambridge was reportedly concerned that Meghan "appeared embarrassed" of her father, Thomas Markle, and other relatives.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward said: “She could not understand why Harry had never met his future father-in-law, nor why Meghan, who Harry assured was The One and 'ticked all his boxes', appeared embarrassed about her family and unwilling to speak about them apart from her mother."
