Nicola Sturgeon self-isolating after contact with Covid positive person
NICOLA Sturgeon is self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid.
The First Minister said she had a notification this evening through the NHS Test & Protect app.
Ms Sturgeon said she will self-isolate until she gets the result of a PCR test.
She took to social media to tell people of the message alert and thanked contact tracers.
In a post on her Twitter page, Ms Sturgeon wrote: "I’ve had notification tonight that I’ve been identified as a close contact of someone who is positive for Covid. Accordingly, and in line with the rules, I’ll be self-isolating pending a PCR test result. My thanks to all the contact tracers working so hard in NHS Test & Protect."
The message alert to Ms Sturgeon comes amid rising virus cases across Scotland.
We previously told how Scots could be placed under another so-called circuit-breaker lockdown.
Experts are reportedly proposing a series of options for Ms Sturgeon to stem the sharp surge in positive tests.
