Patient bites off part of NYC hospital worker’s finger, police sources say
A Brooklyn hospital worker had part of her finger bitten off by an unruly patient, police sources told The Post Wednesday.
The 41-year-old victim — a behavioral health associate — was treating the unidentified chomper at the Kings County Hospital Center in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens around 11:15 p.m. Monday when the patient “hit the female victim and bit off the top of her ring finger,” police said.
Doctors were unable to reattach the piece of the digit, according to the sources.
The suspect, identified by officials as Trina McGee, also 41, of Queens, was arrested by a city health and hospitals peace officer under the authority of the NYPD, cops said.
She was charged with assault with intent to cause dismemberment and menacing, both felonies, police said.
The hospital didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
