Trump’s 2020 website using a confused Joe Biden saying ‘you are as lost as me’ as 404 error page – The Sun
PRESIDENT Donald Trump's reelection campaign website poked fun at Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Wednesday.
The page featured a photo of a confused-looking Biden standing behind a podium with his mouth agape.
"It appears you are as lost as me," reads the phrase beside the former vice president.
The error page, also known as a 404 not found page, is a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) standard response code visitors receive when a web browser is unable to connect to a given server, according to WTRF.
The 404 page is also used when a server chooses not to disclose whether it has requested the information.
Trump's digital dig at Biden comes days after reports surfaced that the presumptive Democratic nominee is building an anti-Trump group of Republicans to help him defeat the president in November.
It was reported Sunday that Biden has reportedly begun talks with "major" figures within the GOP about how they can help his campaign.
Biden himself referenced the conversations during an Instagram live chat on April 30, revealing his former colleagues are "saying, 'Joe, if you win, we're gonna help.'"
"Matter of face, there's some major Republicans who are already forming Republicans for Biden. Major officeholders," he said.
It isn't yet clear exactly how a Republicans for Biden movement could work.
Reports suggest it could either be a political action committee working on his behalf, or a key part of his campaign provided a platform for GOPers to speak up in support.
The snarky error message came as news of Trump's slipping approval rating surfaced earlier Wednesday.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted earlier this week found that just 41 percent of registered US voters approved of Trump's job as president.
